Kadi & Eric | A Once in a Lifetime Wedding in Leigo Tourist Farm and Tartu

A story of how two "cats" from different worlds found each other.

A few years ago, Kadi had reached a point in her life where it was time to go to University in Tartu. She chose a specialty of English and literature and figured she'd also take a class in IT. Why not? Although, she didn't realize that the subject was meant for IT students getting a Master's degree, and a basic understanding of Python language was expected. Meaning that the class already called for a fair amount of programming skills.

So what did Kadi do in that situation? She went to work in an IT lab.

And this is the part of the story where Eric enters. He was one of the most experienced members in the lab and seemed, among the other pony-tailed guys, surprisingly open and joyful. So the pair began to connect. At first by the side of the teacups, to slack off from work a bit, then solving Kadi's homework, and finally during all free moments, sharing their thoughts and ideas via Messenger. By Christmas, it was nearly impossible to separate the two from their phones and everyone around them could see the wide smiles appearing every time their phones made a ding!

Their interests were alike. Both of them loved winter and snowboarding, both enjoyed board games and gaming, they laughed at the same jokes, and their mutual topics for discussion seemed endless.

Despite all that, the two remained just friends because Kadi was a Christian and Eric was not... Kadi had even said that Eric would be the ideal man, if only he were a Christian! Thus it came to the end of January. It was time for decisions. Through gritting pain there was a "no...", immediately followed by a tearful "yes!"

Eric had stood by Kadi through all that, waiting and hoping that the same clarity that had been in him, could reach Kadi, too. So the two began to take their first steps together as a couple until suddenly it had already been a year from the start of their relationship.

Then COVID hit. As everyone else hid in their homes, those two were as much in love as can be. On one sunny spring day, they decided to finally come out from their homes and walk together downstream of the muddy Emajõe riverbank. As they had finally found the most romantic branch reaching far over the water, and Kadi had just thanked God in her mind for all that was beautiful in this world, a nervous Eric carefully pulled out a ring from his pocket. "You know what, would you like become my wife?"
