Karin & Aleksander | Spring wedding in Kolga manor

My story with Aleksander is a positive example of how it’s possible to find “the One” even via a dating site. Not everyone over there is some ghoul you would run away from in any available direction to avoid meeting again. But Aleksander and I are a couple from the so-called Golden Age of Tinder. When we think back to the beginning of our story, our meeting was an enormous coincidence, if not fate itself. A few days earlier, I had deleted Tinder from my phone, but from pure boredom, I decided to reinstall it simply to fill the evening. And at the same, Aleksander, too, was thinking that that would be his last day using Tinder, and he would uninstall the app the following morning.

Due to having deleted Tinder previously, all my preference settings had reset to default, and all the parameters I had set earlier to find a mate and narrow the pool of candidates, were messed up. Thus, I was able to swipe on anyone who happened before me on the app. Aleksander was one of the first ones, and in truth, I misclicked, meaning to swipe left for “don’t like” (or whatever the used term was then) because he was younger than me. Butterfingers like I am, though, things went the opposite way, and surprisingly, in a little while, it turned out to be a match – I had caught Aleksander’s eye. Today he recalls that supposedly he must have liked the face :)

Fun fact: I was staying in Aleksandri Hotel when I accidentally said “yes” to Aleksander. Aleksander was the one to initiate conversation and ask me out. I was a bit of a snag, being constantly busy – work, training, competitions – and having to postpone meetings but thankfully, he had plenty of persistence and patience. And he is still so patient even to this day! A wonderful quality! We moved in very fast after only three months of knowing each other. Marriage came three and a half years later, and from there, our first children and wedding anniversaries :)
