Liisa & Lenno | A Wedding full of joy at the Valgeranna Veinitall, Estonia
Liisa and Lenno were brought together 4 years ago in January on a cruise ship sailing toward Sweden.
Liisa had come aboard with her coworkers for an educational trip to Sweden, while Lenno had happened there with his friends — cruising together had become somewhat of a tradition for their group.
Lenno noticed Liisa on the dance floor already on the first evening but lacked the courage to go chat her up. Since the cruise was only for two nights, there was no time to waste on the second evening. “All or nothing,” Lenno thought, “if I don’t act today, I will never have the chance again.”
And so he strutted right up to Liisa and whispered in her ear: “You are the most beautiful woman on this whole ship.”
Liisa was very flattered, but the conversation did not go on from there. Until…

The party was over, lights were out. Lenno lost Liisa from sight and, with a disappointed soul, he headed back towards his cabin. Somehow, though, he managed to take a “wrong” turn and ended up in another hallway, where he happened upon Liisa and her friends.
The group decided to stay chatting together and ended up conversing well into the early morning hours. When it eventually came time to go to bed and Liisa’s group was about to leave, Lenno ran after her to get her contacts.
“What’s your phone number?” Lenno asked.
Liisa lied that she didn’t have it memorized.
“What about Facebook?”
“I’m not on Facebook,” she replied, dodging his attempts.
“Alright, but you at least have an email address, right?”
She did indeed, and so Lenno ended up finally getting her email.
And so the connection began…

There were a lot of car dates at first — just driving around and talking. Later in cafes, and finally at each other's homes.
They still joke together that fate had to pull some serious strings for them to be together, dragging both of them on that ship, since neither really wanted to go in the first place… But yet they did go — suppose fate had its plans.
Getting to marriage took 3,5 years. Lenno had always grown up with the knowledge that he would never get married since marriage was nothing but agony and doom. Yet still…
While away on a men’s retreat, Lenno suddenly found himself with the profound knowledge that Liisa is the woman he wants to enjoy life with, until the end. And so he bought an engagement ring and on Liisa’s birthday, April 6th, while away on a beach in the Caribbean, he got down on one knee and at last, asked the question every woman longs to hear: “My darling, will you marry me?”
“Of course!” said Liisa and cried the happiest tears of her life.

“I had secretly hoped that one beautiful day it would happen. Somehow something told me that perhaps it would be in 2022. That was a very special so-called magical numbers year for us: our age gap is 11 years, the year is 22, I’m 33 and Lenno is 44 years old. That’s why we picked that year for our wedding, too. There wouldn’t have been any other option but our year-year ‘22.” - Liisa
