Diana & Arno | Breathtaking Winter Wedding in Kiltsi Castle
Is there anyone who would like to get married in winter? In the cold?
I checked it out. Yes, I did go to the official Statistics Estonia website. In the last ten years there have been more than sixty thousand weddings all together in Estonia. But out of those for example in July there were 11 242 weddings and in January only 2740. That is more than four times less.
It seems most people would not like to get married in winter.
But Diana and Arno had a different plan. Their wedding took place exactly in the middle of the winter in January. Despite of the cold all the people gathered in the beautiful Kiltsi Castle to celebrate their wedding day.
And it was one of the most beautiful winter days I have ever seen. The sun gave hugs to frosty trees turning them into gold. In the crisp air you could see rainbows forming through ice crystals. The steam from lakes and rivers slowly rose to the bright blue sky. You could even say that it was… better than summer.
But when I thought about it I realised once again that wedding day is only the first page of a lifelong marriage. The weather that will be present in your home will be so much more important compared to the weather on your wedding day. Magical dates and perfect weather forecasts do not give you a happy marriage. It is actually very good, because it’s not very wise to put your trust in the weather forecasts. They’re just not under our control at all.
Fortunately, it is a bit different with marriage.
