Kersti & Kait | Forever stylish and fun wedding in the Kau Manor

Kersti and Kait met in the early morning hours at a popular enterntainment facility cloackroom in Tallinn Old Town. The date was August 12th 2011. Young and bold Kait had just graduated from university and was living his best young man life. The evening of August 11th seemed no different from any other night but Kait had no idea that the warm summer evening and early morning would take a turn like this. It was clear from the first meeting that both Kersti and Kait had strong personalities because they could see each other’s personality traits clearly from the very first important discussions.

They had their first argument as well, but there was no reason for worry, as they decided to have a drink and rest from dancing at the next bar. By the way! Kersti treated Kait to the first drink. That night he tried to get a kiss from her but did not succeed. However, he saw this as a good thing and it only made him more interested in Kersti.

“We had our first date a few days later when we visited the “Dialogue in Darkness” exhibition at AHHAA Science Centre. Others “saw” no sparks between us at that time.

We fell in love during fall, which is why that time of year holds a special place in our relationship: colourful leaves falling from the trees automatically take me back to our walks, especially to the park at Keila-Joa, where Kersti’s soft smile, brown eyes and hair swept me off my feet.” (Kait)

"Kait caught my attention simply by being different from others. He was bold, straightforward, had a positive attitude and fascinating hobbies (music, dance, band, choir singing). Above all, these sky-blue eyes… I could sense from the first moments that he was a very well raised and dignified man - I was enchanted (Kersti)

"The best things in life often happen unexpectedly and the deep love and connection we developed was even more surprising considering that neither of us was looking for a relationship. We were certainly ready for each other though, and decided to let this magical feeling grow" (Kait)

"We started spending more and more time together and soon could not go without the other. At that moment it became clear that we would be walking together in life." (Kersti)

We had been together for a month and were still falling in love, when Kait had to complete 8 months of mandatory military service. This separated us temporarily. "It was sad to be apart from him but fortunately his military service was spent at Rahumäe Guard Battalion in Tallinn so we were able to see each other every Sunday. I went to see my beloved man, dressed in green, every Sunday for two months and every single moment we spent together was a precious gift." (Kersti)

"My father’s health declined during Kait’s military service and it was not long until he passed away. This was the first difficult obstacle on our journey together but thanks to Kait I managed to get through the grief. He was the one who went to my father’s grave with me every week for two years, always supported me.” (Kersti)

"We moved in together after Kait finished military service. We had been in a relationship for a year by then. I would say that our living together went well from the beginning. We could take each other into consideration and give our time when needed. In the beginning Kait surprised me with excellent cooking skills and not considering things as men’s and women’s tasks. We clean the home together and he always helps me with hanging laundry to dry. I know that not many men are like this and I’m glad to have him. Life flowed in its natural rhythm, we worked, had hobbies (spa-retreats, geing to restaurants, being in nature, traveling, sport)." (Kersti)

"I only had a high school education and worked at a cafe when we met. Kait motivated me to do more in life: I got a different job, started university and got my driver’s licence. Kait planned on continuing his education as well.” (Kersti)

He continued his studies in Birmingham, England, only a year and a half after military service. This tested our relationship once again.

"It was an extremely difficult time for me when Kait decided to go to England with his best friend to get a Master’s degree. One year apart seemed like the end of the world to me." (Kersti)

"We have experienced beautiful times together and difficult times as well. Two people who are very different at first glance have used their differences throughout the years to enrich the relationship and discover new sides of each other. Kersti has made me more confident and shown light to a young man on his journey of growing into a man." (Kait)

"There was quite a bit of “smoothing off the rough edges” during the beginning because we are both fire signs (Leo Kait and Aries Kersti) " (Kersti)

In time we have learned to love each other as we are. We are connected by an active lifestyle, interesting hobbies (winter swimming, downhill skiing), a similar worldview, as well as great passion, love and respect for each other.

"The most beautiful day of my life was when Kait asked me to marry him in a Lavvu in Lapland. For the first time in my life I burst out crying of happiness and my heart was overwflowing with emotion. Kait has always been the man I saw as my husband, he has the type of chivalry that is not often seen anymore. I know he will be a fantastic father to our soon-to-be-born first child and I am grateful for having found him every day. Kait is my love, my best friend and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with him." (Kersti)

"Kersti is my first girlfriend, the person closest to me and the one I trust most. Living with her is my greatest gift and joy, for that I am very grateful. I know that we can do anything together and we will have a great life." (Kait)
